Last week, the team and I had the absolute pleasure of visiting Kapara for lunch, and it’s safe to say, we left very impressed.
Located in Ilona Rose House, close to Tottenham Court Road, Kapara opened in early 2023 and has been bringing bold, Tel Aviv-inspired energy to Soho ever since. Founded by Israeli-born Chef Eran Tibi, known for his work at Bala Baya and training at Le Cordon Bleu London, Kapara is described as a “hub of hedonism”. The restaurants high-energy spirit is felt from the moment you walk in.
Jessica and Katie started with some delicious-looking non-alcoholic cocktails (fresh, colourful and very on brand for Kapara’s bold style), while we settled in and prepared to order far too much food…. as usual.
What We Ate
We began with freshly baked breads served with the most delicious citrus smoked garlic butter, simple, but exceptional.
Starters included:
- Aubergine Mess (VG) – charred aubergine, date tahini, grape gremolata and sumac
- Ceviche sea bass – buttermilk, green harissa, Turkish chilli and lemon zest
- And some very delicious potato bites
For mains, we chose:
- Sticky Golden Chicken
- Baked Seabream
Everything was amazing. The flavours were bold yet balanced, and each plate felt generous and considered. Kapara’s menu is designed for sharing and celebrating, very much in keeping with Tel Aviv’s lively dining culture.
It’s also worth noting how accommodating the team were with dietary requirements. We had someone with us who was dairy free, and the staff were incredibly flexible and helpful, ensuring they had plenty of options and felt completely looked after.
Private Dining & Events 🎉
After lunch, we ventured downstairs where Kapara really surprised us. There’s a large private dining space, ideal for parties, private dinners, or corporate events, with views into the kitchen, giving it that exclusive, almost “your own restaurant” feel.
They also have a heated outdoor terrace (around 50 covers) which can be privatised….a rare gem in Soho. Whether it’s brunch, group dining, or full venue hire, Kapara delivers high-energy hospitality with style.
